What We’re All About
Keppel Street Kindy is a privately owned & operated, well established, licensed Long Day Care Centre. We are committed to providing quality care and education for Thirty Nine children aged from 2 to 6 years each day.
The aim of our Centre is to provide a safe, warm, friendly and stimulating environment in which children are able to experiment, explore and learn about themselves and their world.
Operating Days & Times:
We are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. Families are able to claim Child Care Subsidy to assist with fees.
We are conveniently located within the Bathurst CBD and close to public transport.
*Keppel Street Kindy is a nut free zone
OUR PROGRAMS
EARLY YEARS LEARNING FRAMEWORK
The Centre's program provides a wide range of experiences to encourage the children's curiosity and learning. Our programs take into account children's interest and developmental needs. Our current curriculum follows the Early Years Learning Framework planning cycle and involves interactive decision making by children, families and educators.
All activities are carefully selected to help develop each child's creative, language and personal, cognitive (thinking & reasoning), fine and gross motor co-ordination, as well as social and emotional development. Our programs are based from current Early Childhood research that recognises that Children learn through play. As a result activities include a variety of art, craft, block play, construction, cognitive games, pre-number, pre-reading, cooking, science and math’s activities, technology activities, performances, excursions, singing/ music and movement, dance, outdoor games, sand play and water play activities.
Activities are planned in all key learning areas of the curriculum, including English (language), Mathematics, Science, Creative Arts, Society and Its Environment and the Personal Development and Health of the children. The programs are on display in each classroom.
CHILDREN LEARN THROUGH PLAY
At Keppel Street Kindy the children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of developmentally appropriate and interest based activities that extend all areas of their development using a holistic approach. These activities are lots of fun and the children are unaware that they are learning as they play.
Staff complete regular observations on each child and plan learning outcomes that assist each individual child. Parents are able to discuss their child's development with their teacher at any time.
Our School Readiness Program allows children to participate in a variety of activities, covering all areas of their development to prepare them for “Big School”.
ENROLMENT PROCESS
We encourage families to visit our centre prior to enrolment so the child and family can familiarise themselves with the environment and the educators that will be working with the service. We will endeavour to answer any questions you may have and support your family to make the right decision on where to enrol your child.

Return all forms to the centre and find out what vacancies are available. If your child has not yet turned 2 years old they will be added to the waitlist.
Orientation information will be provided where you will be introduced to the Centre Manager and educators in your child’s room. We will explain our routines and key policies and procedures. We encourage you to bring your child as well so they can have a play while the educators familiarize you with your child’s locker, show you the sign on procedure as well as the programming.
